We have heard several reports that Apple will soon release a new MacBook Pro with M4. According to the latest supply chain rumors, the next laptop will hit the market by the end of October. Like the new iPad mini, Apple could surprise us with the latest MacBook Pro, or it could deliver this news at an event in October.
A new report by Digitimes claims that Compaq, a major Mac assembler, increased production significantly in September. Additionally, two Mac component suppliers, Jarllytec and Shin Zu Shing, reported increased revenue last month. If Apple is preparing for an October launch, additional orders from Mac component suppliers make sense.
Apple unveiled its latest MacBook Pro at the Scary Fast event last October, which coincides with the company's launch of the new model.
Supply chain rumors lend a bit more credence to the leaked MacBook Pro box, suggesting that the box specs may be accurate. Some had said that the wallpaper was old, but that suspicion has been put to rest, as the iPad mini 7 also uses old wallpaper.
If so, the 2024 MacBook Pro will have a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB RAM (a welcome upgrade from the 8GB in the current MacBook Pro), 512GB storage (or more depending on configuration), three M4 chips, which will reportedly have Thunderbolt 4 ports.
If these specs are accurate, the M4 MacBook Pro will be a powerful machine worthy of the “Pro” name. Of course, we will have to wait until Apple officially announces this laptop before jumping to conclusions, but it is easy to imagine that the new MacBook Pro will be one of the best laptops and best Macbooks.
