With Thanksgiving just around the corner, the best streaming services are offering a buffet of new films. But with so many films to choose from, how do you choose which ones to watch?

I check out Netflix's Top 10 Movies list. Not all of them will be hits, but they are a great tool to cut through the noise. With that in mind, I'll round up the best of the best on Netflix's Top 10 list and tell you which movies are actually worth promoting.

Netflix has put out a string of great original films this year, many of which are in the top 10. This week, Netflix's latest romantic comedies, horror dramas, and documentaries made the list.

Netflix scored another blockbuster with its latest holiday romance movie. The Merry Gentlemen, starring Britt Robertson as professional dancer Ashley Davis. But when her parents' stage company is in danger of going out of business due to massive debt, she decides to save it by staging an all-male Christmas-themed revue. She also manages to convince Luke (Chad Michael Murray), an attractive local handyman, to join Jingle Bell Rock. With the help of a group of fit, shirtless dancers, Ashley sets out to save the Rhythm Room, and Christmas itself.

Set in 1930s Pittsburgh in the aftermath of the Great Depression, “The Piano Lesson” follows the Charles family as they clash over the fate of their prized heirloom: an intricately carved piano with the images of their enslaved ancestors The film depicts Boy Willie Charles (John David Washington) has his eye on the land, where he can get his money back if he sells the piano, but his sister Bernice (Danielle Deadwyler) is more concerned with family history than profit. Tensions between the siblings escalate, and caught in the middle, their uncle Dooker (Samuel L. Jackson) plays matchmaker. Amidst the conflict, rumors of a vengeful spirit spread throughout the town, and a haunting mystery looms over the family.

Usually, documentaries give a rough idea of what they are about based on their premise. However, this is not the case with “Lost Children. Directed by Academy Award winner Orlando von Einsiedel, this new Netflix documentary tells the incredible true story of four children, ages 11 months to 13, who were stranded in the Amazon rainforest. Colombian soldiers and local indigenous people mounted a desperate rescue mission to bring them home, despite long-standing social and political conflicts.
