Hopefully another month goes by without one of the best streaming services raising their prices. The latest is Sling TV, which announced a $6 per month price increase starting in December. This comes after the company raised its prices by $5 in March 2023, so at least we could go a year or more without paying extra for Sling.
After the price increase, Sling's prices are as follows:
Each of the three plans offers a different set of channels, with the Combo plan offering all available channels. The Orange plan offers 35 channels, the Blue plan offers 43 channels, and the Orange and Blue combo plan offers 68 channels.
Comparing Sling's combo plan prices to the competition, they are still inexpensive. For example, YouTube TV's Live TV costs $73, but has more channels and currently offers over 100 channels; Hulu's Live TV starts at $83 if you want ad-supported Hulu, but offers over 90 channels.
Looking at pricing, Sling TV is still a pretty reasonable deal compared to other options on the market, as long as one of the plans offers the channels you want to watch.
Sling wrote on its website about the price increase and provided justification for the increase.
“These price increases are industry-wide, with other major streaming providers raising prices throughout 2024. Despite this, Sling remains the most affordable option at over $20 per month less than other providers.”
