Nvidia's rumored plans to release a GeForce RTX 5000 series GPU are still up in the air, but the big question these days is how much it will cost. If this RTX 5090 price leak is any indication, it may not be too far off from the price the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000 series cards already have.

As IT site Bits and Chips (via Notebookcheck) points out, Nvidia's rumored GeForce RTX 5090 GPU is estimated to cost at least €1,800. This translates to more than $2,000 in US dollars, but Bits and Chips posted on X (Twitter) that it will be between $1,899 and $1,999.

This is according to “several Chinese and Japanese journalists,” while posts from IT sites suggest that overclocked versions of Asus ROG, Gigabyte Windforce, and others “will cost more.”

With rising manufacturing costs, earlier rumors suggested that they could be $2,000 to $2,500. This is according to YouTube channel Moore's Law is Dead, while another leaker, Kopite7kimi, stated that this is “totally fake.”

If this turns out to be true, it won't be too far off the price at which the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU is selling; as Tom's Hardware indicates, this high-end GPU can be purchased starting at $1,799. As luck would have it, supply seems to be dwindling, suggesting that Nvidia may have discontinued production, perhaps to make room for the RTX 50 series? Only time will tell.

Otherwise, we have heard a lot about Nvidia's RTX 50 series GPUs, with the RTX 5090 expected by the end of 2024. It has also been reported that the RTX 50 series will support GDDR7 memory and PCIe Gen 5. This means faster and more power efficient GPUs; an RTX 5090 laptop GPU with 24GB of VRAM could be on the way.
