There are dozens of Christmas movies, but “Sweethearts” is a rare Thanksgiving movie. Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hilaga play two college freshmen who promise to break up with their high school sweethearts on Thanksgiving eve. But their plans are sparked by a chaotic night back in their hometown, and their friendship is put to the test.

Olivier Assayas's “Silsilmaria by the Clouds” is an unflinching and poignant psychological drama that illustrates the uncomfortable truth of growing old through the complex dynamic between art and life. Juliette Binoche gives a fine performance as Maria Enders, a veteran actress who is asked to reprise the role that propelled her to stardom.
She originally played the role of young Sigrid, an 18-year-old opportunist who manipulates Helena, an older woman, to devastating effect. In the revival, Maria was cast as Helena, and Sigrid was played by the controversial but talented Hollywood star Jo-Ann Ellis (Chloe Grace Moretz). To prepare for the role, Maria and her faithful personal assistant Valentine (Kristen Stewart) retreat to the remote and picturesque Sils-Maria region of Switzerland, and as the two rehearse and analyze the play's themes, tensions mount and the boundaries between their own lives and the characters they portray begin to blur. The boundaries between their own lives and those of the characters they are portraying begin to blur.
