The OnePlus Watch 2 is one of the best Android smartwatches available. The next iteration is expected to arrive in January when the company launches the global version of the OnePlus 13.
Spurring the idea that the Watch3 is coming soon, the next OnePlus smartwatch appeared in the unauthorized FCC database for certification, confirming that it will likely launch soon.
The FCC document was discovered by Notebook Check and featured the OnePlus Watch 3, model number OPWWE251. We attempted to search the FCC database but were unable to locate these documents. Therefore, we recommend that this news be taken with a bit of skepticism.
Nevertheless, the documents appear legitimate and appear similar to previous FCC documents and lists we have seen.
With that in mind, what does the document reveal about a possible 3rd generation OnePlus Watch?
In our review of the OnePlus Watch 2, we praised the wearable's battery life, and it appears that the Watch 3 will have a rated battery capacity of 631mAh, much larger than the Watch 2's 500mAh cell.
Also, the Watch 3's dimensions will be 46.6 x 47.6 x 11.75 mm, which appears to be slightly more prominent. However, it is approximately 0.35 mm thinner than the Watch 2. The slight increase in size is likely due to the larger battery.
Documentation seems to confirm that the Watch will have Bluetooth, GNSS, NFC, and Wi-Fi 4 connectivity.
This is a production version of the Watch, meaning there is no room for surprises and this is likely what the Watch will look like at launch.
Other than a larger battery, the Watch 3 is not likely to differ significantly from the Watch 2. It will therefore have an AMOLED display and possibly a Snapdragon W5 chip.
