5 of the best shows like “A Man on the Inside” available on Netflix, Peacock and more right now

Looking for something to watch after A Man on the Inside. This show is the latest original comedy to hit Netflix, and not surprisingly, it's a hit. Not only does it star Ted Danson, but it was created by TV comedy series legend Michael Schur. So I wouldn't be surprised if you've already seen it.

But you're looking for something to watch next. Fortunately, Danson and Schurr are well known for their illustrious television careers, with Ted Danson being one of the stars of “The Good Place” and Schurr producing this popular sitcom.

Honestly, I could list five great shows to watch right now, like “A Man on the Inside” with Ted Danson or produced by Michael Schur. And I almost did. There is one show on this list that has nothing to do with either Ted Danson or Michael Schurr. But I've branched out a bit to present a few programs that you may not think to watch next.

So without further ado, here are the top five shows like “A Man on the Inside” that you should be watching right now on Netflix, Peacock, etc., after you finish watching Danson and Shure's latest hit.

“The Good Place” stars Kristen Bell as Eleanor Shellstrop. She was hit by a truck and is now on “The Good Place”. The only problem. If Michael (Ted Danson), the “architect” who built this place, finds out, she could be sent to the “Bad Place.”

This show is unquestionably great. Danson plays Michael brilliantly, and the character is much more complex than he appears. It's also Michael Schuur's best sitcom, a perfect 53 episodes in four seasons. Not too short, not too long, and definitely the first one to watch after “A Man on the Inside.”

“Parks and Recreation” stars Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, a well-meaning bureaucrat in the fictional small town of Pawnee, Indiana. The mockumentary situation comedy follows the daily lives of Leslie and the other residents of Pawnee.

This large ensemble cast is somewhat structurally different from “A Man on the Inside,” which has a decent-sized regular cast but only four main cast members. Still, both shows have Schuur's signature comedy at the forefront. So if you like the humor in “A Man on the Inside,” you should definitely check out “Parks and Recreation” as well.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is another sitcom by Schur (feigning shock). You're probably thinking, “Shouldn't another creator's show be on this list? But honestly, Schur makes the best sitcoms, as one look at “A Man on the Inside” will tell you.

You may also be familiar with Stephanie Beatriz, who plays Didi, the executive director of Pacific View Retirement Community, on the show. In Brooklyn Nine-Nine, however, she plays a very different role as Detective Rosa Diaz, one of the members of the Brooklyn 99th Precinct. The comedy, starring Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher, is perfect if you want a cop show that is more about the day-to-day lives of the people who solve crimes than the crimes themselves--something “The Man Who Solved the Inside Crime” has in common.

“Uploaded” star Robbie Amell plays Nathan Brown, a 27-year-old computer genius. But all hope is not lost, as Nathan's consciousness is “uploaded” to a virtual afterlife called Lakeview.

There are several reasons why one should watch “Upload” after “A Man on the Inside.” First, both have the protagonist investigating possible crimes and conspiracies in some sort of nursing home; “Upload” is produced by Greg Daniels, who worked with Schur on “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation”. “ And finally, unlike the other shows on this list, “Uploaded” is still ongoing. When Season 4 arrives (probably next year), you can watch the new show again.

When it comes to beloved private detective comedies, it's hard to miss “Monk.” This comedy-drama stars Tony Shalhoub as Adrain Monk, an obsessive-compulsive, phobia-ridden private detective. He works with the San Francisco Police Department to solve unconventional cases while investigating the unsolved murder of his wife.

So, obviously, there are a lot of similarities between the “inside jobs”. Both feature a San Francisco private investigator. Both feature protagonists who have lost their wives. But there is a reason why “Monk” is a comedy-drama and not a sitcom.
