ExpressVPN Launches Dedicated IP Offerings - But Slightly Different

ExpressVPN has added yet another feature to its VPN service with the introduction of a dedicated IP.

More and more users are looking for enhanced privacy and security solutions to take control of their online experience. Whether you need access to work resources or uninterrupted browsing, a dedicated IP address brings the benefits of unrestricted remote access, improved online reputation, and greater control over your online presence.

ExpressVPN, which recently dropped to third place on our best VPN list, has begun to fight by introducing a wave of new features. This tactic has made its overall package a force to be reckoned with.

Many of the other providers on our best VPN list also offer dedicated IPs, but ExpressVPN does things a little differently. Its dedicated IPs are much more privacy-focused than others, and even ExpressVPN cannot track them.

Modern offerings provide users with unique, static IP addresses that do not compromise privacy. Also, no third party or ExpressVPN can track the dedicated IP,” said Samuel Bultez, Head of Product at ExpressVPN,

”Many users have requested the option to have a dedicated IP, and the traditional dedicated IP implementation We are pleased to have developed a unique engineered solution that addresses the privacy concerns associated with traditional dedicated IP implementations.

“Our innovative approach to dedicated IP provides all the benefits of a static IP address while maintaining privacy and security for all users.”

Even ExpressVPN cannot trace a dedicated IP back to an individual.

ExpressVPN's unique engineering design incorporates robust security controls and a transparent open source approach to developing best-in-class dedicated IP services.

Zero-knowledge IP allocation is the cornerstone of ExpressVPN's dedicated IP service, ensuring that IP addresses are privately assigned and unmonitored. It also includes innovations such as blind tokens and AWS Nitro Enclaves to further enhance privacy and security.

Concurrent with the announcement of the dedicated IP, ExpressVPN released a white paper detailing its unique engineering approach to this feature.

In this release, Pete Membrey, ExpressVPN's Chief Research Officer, states:” We invested the time and resources necessary to develop a dedicated IP solution, ensuring it meets the highest standards of security and innovation.

“With the release of the white paper, we have gone a step further to document this process and provide a detailed look at our technical architecture, security measures, and privacy safeguards for full transparency. This feature exemplifies our commitment to privacy-by-design and is a foundational step towards the zero-trust approach we aim to apply across our entire product line.

The dedicated IP service is integrated into the ExpressVPN app interface, making the setup process quick and easy, with no complicated configuration required. Simply select the location of the dedicated IP, set the access code, and you are connected.

There are currently 29 IP locations in 22 countries. 8 in North America, 3 in Asia, 16 in Europe, and 1 each in Australia and South Africa.

This feature is currently only available on Android VPN, iOS VPN, and Windows VPN apps, but more platforms will be supported soon.

Dedicated IP ensures smooth access to IP address sensitive sites such as banking services and corporate networks. It reduces the likelihood of encountering a CAPTCHA when accessing your favorite sites and allows you to own your online reputation. With dedicated and shared IP options, you can benefit from the privacy and security of a VPN.

The introduction of dedicated IPs is another new feature that ExpressVPN has added to its VPN service in recent months. Identity Defender and Credit Scanner are two recently added features at no additional charge that challenge ExpressVPN's other major VPN providers and make us ask, “Has ExpressVPN become a bargain?

However, the dedicated IP is the first of the new features not included at no additional charge and is an optional extra. Prices start at $3.49/month, depending on the length of the plan contract.

ExpressVPN is not unique in that it offers a dedicated IP; many other providers do. However, ExpressVPN is unique in the way they implement their features, thanks to their unique engineering design.
