But just because a movie makes the cut is no guarantee that it will be a hit. So, we've narrowed it down to Netflix's top 10, and Netflix has been putting out a string of great original films this year, the latest of which, a Christmas thriller, earned an impressive 86% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Also noteworthy are a biopic of the legendary opera singer starring Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox's take on the sci-fi genre with AI as the villain.

“Maria” concludes director Pablo Larraín's trilogy about influential women of the 20th century. Angelina Jolie plays the titular character, opera singer Maria Callas, in this biographical film about the last days of the American-Greek soprano. Set in the 1970s, when Callas spent her last years in Paris, the film follows the legendary diva as she reexamines her identity, life, and legacy in the days leading up to her death in 1977, as she continues to struggle with the decline of her voice. Maria” reflects on her glamorous and tumultuous life, with flashbacks to the height of her career.

Traveling during the vacations is stressful, but “Carry On” turns it into a nightmare scenario. This unusual Christmas action thriller is closer to “Die Hard” than “Love Actually,” with “Rocket Man” and “Kingsman” star Taron Egerton being blackmailed by a traveler (Jason Bateman) on Christmas Eve to let a dangerous package through security! He plays Ethan, a TSA agent. Ethan must race against time to thwart an evil conspiracy and rediscover his zest for life in the process. With this unconventional premise supported by two action movie powerhouses, Carry On earned a respectable 86% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.

This sci-fi thriller starring Megan Fox has been trending in Netflix's top 10 for the past few weeks, despite divided opinions from critics and audiences alike. this film with AI as the villain, “M3GAN” and “Afraid” Directed by S.K. Dale, “Subservience” takes place in the near future, when lifelike robotic assistants called SIMs are commonplace in homes. A father (Michele Morrone), struggling to care for his sick wife (Madeline Zima) and two children, buys this android, which his daughter names “Alice” (Fox). But things take a sinister turn when the new robo housekeeper begins to grow attached to him and his family, and begins to target the mother's location.
