Hulu regularly delivers highly rated movies every month, which is one of the reasons we rate it one of the best streaming services on the market.
Admittedly, this month's additions are a bit slim, which is why we had to slightly lower our usual threshold from 90% “fresh” to 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, but that doesn't mean the top three movies are not worth streaming It doesn't mean that the top three movies aren't worth streaming.
Despite the looming holiday season, some of the best additions to Hulu's library this month are not festive favorites. Instead, we're looking forward to streaming emotional survival dramas and action blockbusters, including 2011's excellent “The Muppets,” which will also be streaming this month. I'm honored that the streamer has also added “Gladiator” to the list: ...... In my opinion, despite being an all-timer, somehow it's still languishing in the 80th percentile (and better than the recent sequel!) ...

Robert Zemeckis' survival drama “Cast Away” won Tom Hanks a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his portrayal of FedEx systems analyst Chuck Noland. But it was Hanks' everyman protagonist that made it. [The film follows the years-long ordeal of Chuck, who is stranded on a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean after a plane crash. Tense and shocking, “Cast Away” is a great addition to Hulu this month.

If you need some action this month, “Speed” is definitely a solid choice. In Jan de Bont's thriller, LAPD bomb disposal officer Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves before “The Matrix”) is tasked with stopping a bomb threat from blackmailer Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper).
Payne has planted a bomb on a bus that will explode if it goes below 50 mph. It's a simple setup, but the result is thrilling and very well done.

If you're looking for a fantastic family adventure to stream, “The Muppets” is the perfect choice this month. This 2011 comedy is a serious (and welcome!) return of Jim Henson's lovable puppets, led by Jason Segel. It is a return to form.
The film follows Muppet fan, Walter (voiced by Peter Linz), who travels around to reunite the original gang with the help of his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary's girlfriend, Mary (Amy Adams). An oil tycoon has bought the abandoned Muppet Theater and is about to drill its basement. Together, the gang tries to raise enough money to put on one last show and save the treasured venue.
