In 2024, Netflix has 26 No. 1 shows so far.

As of this writing, 26 different Netflix shows have taken the No. 1 spot on the streaming service in the 49 weeks of 2024 (based on data from Netflix's global streaming chart). the number of shows appearing on the streaming service in one week. That may not seem like a lot when you consider the number of shows that appear on the streaming service in a given week. But you have to watch one every two weeks to see them all, and it starts to get overwhelming. I watched over 50 seasons of TV shows this year, which is quite overwhelming.

But luckily, you don't have to watch dozens of shows to know what's best. Here are seven of this year's Netflix No. 1 shows to watch right now.

“3 Body Problems” is the latest from “Game of Thrones” stars David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The sci-fi series brings back some familiar faces with the addition of Alexander Wu (“True Blood”) to the creative team. Liam Cunningham and John Bradley (“Game of Thrones”) will join the main cast.

The show will unfold in two timelines. In the past, Chinese astrophysicist Ye Wenjie (Gene Tseng) is drafted into the army after witnessing her father's death during the struggle for the Cultural Revolution. Sent to a secret military base, she learns that her job is to attempt first contact with aliens.

Now her daughter Vera (Vedette Lim) was one of the prominent scientists who committed suicide. This prompts MI6's Clarence “Da” Shi (Benedict Wong) and his boss Thomas Wade (Cunningham) to launch an investigation that eventually brings together a group of associates they have come to know as the “Oxford Five.” Their mission is to discover the cause of the mysterious deaths, but it soon turns into something much, much bigger.

“A Man on the Inside” reunites “Good Place” friends Ted Danson and Mike Shure. In this crime comedy from Shure, Danson stars as Charles Nieuwendyke, a widower retiree who has lost his way a bit. In order to give himself a purpose again, he accepts a job as an investigative assistant to a San Francisco private investigator (Lilla Rich Creek Estrada).

First job. He infiltrates the Pacific View Retirement Community to solve the case of a missing ruby necklace. All while juggling his new job and his relationship with his daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis). Watch the entire first season now and check out shows like A Man on the Inside.

Until recently, “Baby Reindeer” was probably the best show of the year I hadn't seen yet. And now that I've started watching it, I see why people love it, but I find it almost too awkward for a show that is supposed to be offensive.

This seven-episode black comedy stars Richard Gadd as Donnie Dunn, an unsuccessful London comedian. He has largely failed to gain a foothold in the London comedy scene, and up to this point, things have not exactly been kind to him.

However, once he gives his customer Martha (Jessica Gunning) a cup of tea, things take a marked turn for the worse. Martha becomes so obsessed with him that he has to call the police. Don't miss this Netflix show based on Gad's autobiographical one-woman comedy. When you're done watching, don't miss these shows, including “Baby Reindeer.”

“Cobra Kai” has been a hit every time Netflix has released it. So it's no surprise that this latest season is another big hit for the streaming service.

For those unfamiliar, the show brings back Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who played Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence, respectively, in the first “Karate Kid” film. The show takes place more than 30 years later, with Johnny struggling to stop living in the past and Daniel living the perfect life. However, there is a twist to the original film. Instead of Daniel as the protagonist, this time Johnny is the star, making his once heroic rival Daniel the antagonist at first.

But as the show progressed, the animosity between the two was buried. This is partly due to their need to unite against Johnny's old mentor John Cleese (Martin Cove), who took the Cobra Kai dojo from Johnny in season 2 and has since become Johnny and Daniel's close associate, but also due to personal growth. Season 6 Part 2 is the final installment of the popular series, in which former rivals lead the Miyagi-Do Dojo to compete in the World Championships in Barcelona.

“Supercell” was a surprise hit on Netflix earlier this year, and people loved it. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 100% rating, which is no mean feat. So it is no surprise that this British superhero show has already been renewed for season two.

The show stars an ensemble cast of Tosin Cole, Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Calvin Demba, and Josh Tedek. These five black actors play characters from South London who unexpectedly begin to develop superpowers. They have a unifying characteristic. They each have a family history of sickle cell disease. The show is notable for its exploration of themes such as knife crime, racism, poverty, exploitation of black bodies, and sickle cell disease. The superhero show genre is known for dealing with under-treated themes, but few delve into them like “Supacell.”

Full disclosure: I loved Guy Ritchie's 2019 film “The Gentlemen.” I thought it was an instant classic for the director and Colin Farrell's performance was great. He wasn't the only one. Whether it was Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Jeremy Strong, or Hugh Grant (especially Hugh Grant), the film was full of incredible actors and I couldn't get enough.

However, I actually didn't want more from it; when it was announced that Netflix was producing a spin-off show, I immediately dismissed it as a “rehash not worth my time.”

Well, I was wrong. The show was a huge hit for Netflix and was well received. It has already been renewed for a second season. Loosely connected to the world of the original film, Theo James plays Edward “Eddie” Horniman, a British aristocrat trying to build a budding leaf empire. By all accounts, if you liked the original film, you'll like “The Gentleman.”

Last but not least is “Madness.” This crime thriller stars Colman Domingo as media critic Muncy Daniels. Muncy is a former political consultant who, at the time the show begins, is on a work sabbatical in the Poconos, which he hopes will help him get his life back on track.

Unfortunately, instead of writing the next great American novel, Muncy stumbles upon the murdered body of a famous white supremacist. He thus becomes the only witness to the crime and the prime suspect. Convicted of a crime he did not commit, he is forced to make a desperate escape in order to clear his name and unravel a global conspiracy before his time runs out. But whether he can pull it off and keep his family safe remains to be seen.
