This week we learned that Samsung's answer to the rumored iPhone 17 Air could be called the Galaxy S25 Slim, and now more specs have emerged.
According to informant Debayan Roy, the Galaxy S25 Slim will feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, battery capacity between 4,700 mAh and 5,000 mAh, and a 6.66-inch display comparable to the Galaxy S25 Plus The company says. But what is really interesting is the array of cameras; Roy says the S25 Slim will have a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 50 MP telephoto (3.5x optical zoom). The main camera will reportedly use Samsung's ISOCELL HP5 sensor, while the latter two will use the same ISOCELL JN5 sensor.
These camera specs are on par with what we have heard about the Galaxy S25 Ultra and are more than enough to blow away the iPhone 17 Air, which is rumored to have a 48MP main camera.
That's not the only rumor about what's under the hood of the Galaxy S25 Slim; as spotted by Android Authority, informant Abhishek Yadav has reported that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultras all claim that they will top out at 12 gigabytes of RAM. This would be a significant upgrade from the Galaxy S24 series' 8GB of RAM, and presumably the S25 Air will share this upgrade with the rest of the S25 series.
Earlier this week, Ice Universe, a regular Samsung leaker, shared information that the Galaxy S25 Slim “may be 6.x mm thick.” Considering that the thinnest non-folding Galaxy phone currently is the Galaxy S24, which is 7.6 mm thick, the same thickness as the S23 and S23 Plus, this is a big upgrade. Even at a maximum of 6.9mm, the S25 Slim will be much slimmer than any Galaxy device currently on the market. Furthermore, it will be on par with the iPhone Air, which Apple is reportedly aiming to keep under 6mm.
However, all of this will have to be taken with a grain of salt until Samsung reveals more details. If history is anything to go by, Samsung will debut its new Galaxy S25 line of devices in January, but the S25 Slim will not be among them. Instead, Samsung's slimmest phone is expected to be a staggered rollout, with rumors suggesting a spring, possibly April, launch.
