The weather outside is dreadful, and it's the perfect time to grab some popcorn and check out the new releases from the best streaming services. But with so much on offer, narrowing down what to watch can be a daunting task in itself.

Of course, there's no guarantee that all of these will be winners, but it's a great tool for seeing what everyone is talking about. To help you figure out which films actually deserve the publicity, here are the three best of Max's top 10 to watch. They include a gripping new courtroom drama, a true crime documentary that is stranger than fiction, and a twisted Christmas horror film.

Clint Eastwood's latest (and possibly last) film, “Jury No. 2,” received a lot of critical buzz despite limited box office receipts. Nicholas Hoult stars as Justin Kemp, a juror in a high-profile murder trial who faces the gut-wrenching realization that he may be the killer as the facts of the case come to light.

During the trial, James Sythe (Gabriel Basso) is found dead under a bridge after a drunken fight with his girlfriend, Kendall Carter (Francesca Eastwood). As an ambitious local prosecutor (Toni Collette) attempts to arrest Scythe for showmanship in a critical election year, Justin faces a troubling dilemma. On the night of her death, he had hit an animal he thought was a deer with his car after an interrupted drunk driving session at the same bar. And now he must decide whether to talk about the crime he may have committed or let an innocent man take the blame.

Max's latest documentary looks at a crime that rocked the blue-collar town of Channelview, Texas, in the 1990s: 36-year-old mother Wanda Webb Holloway was charged with conspiring to murder the mother of her 14-year-old daughter's cheerleading rival. and murdering the mother of her 14-year-old daughter's cheerleading rival.

The so-called pom-pom mom, in an attempt to win a spot on the cheerleading squad for her daughter, allegedly tried to hire a hit man to beat up the mother before the police sniffed it out and arrested her. This special two-hour program sheds light on this bizarre case and what happened, including an interview with Holloway's daughter.

And unfortunately for the dysfunctional family at the core of this twisted Christmas movie, Krampus is on his way.

Family feuds, blizzards, and power outages are just the beginning of their nightmare. Soon they are killed one by one by an otherworldly force that wants more than milk and cookies. This darkly comedic slasher features a stellar cast including Toni Collette, Adam Scott, and David Koechner.
