With the holiday season in full swing, make a little “me time” by watching this weekend's new shows and movies on the best streaming services, including Netflix and Max.

The return of “Virgin River” leads this week's new show lineup, with the promise of Mel and Jack's long-awaited wedding in Season 6; Peacock debuts the new comedy “Laid,” in which Stephanie Hugh tries to figure out why her ex-boyfriend keeps dying; and “The Last of the Wizards,” which follows a young girl who is trying to find out what happened to her ex-boyfriend. Plus, Marvel's final chapter, “What If . ? ? “ takes us on a final adventure into the multiverse.

On the film side, Kerry Washington stars in the World War II drama “The Six Triple Eight” and “Juror No. 2” hits the max. Highlights this weekend include.

The wedding bells finally ring for Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson). After going through many ups and downs together, the two meet at the altar to say “I do” in Season 7.
