Nintendo Switch 2 docking station rumored to be capped at 4K and 30 FPS

A treasure trove of Nintendoswitch 2 leaks landed on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit this week. We're still digging into it, but some interesting claims are emerging from this post.

The original post by Redditor NextHandheld claims to have seen the final release version of the upcoming console. They held an AMA for curious Reddit users, asking about specs and the appearance of the new console.

One of the more disappointing facts for some users was that the docking station's performance would be limited to 4K resolution and 30 frames per second.

If the leaks are to be believed, the dock will likely be more powerful than the one that came with the original Switch; NextHandheld revealed that the dock is rated at 60W and 45W charging output, much higher than the original.

This could mean better performance than the Switch, which is already struggling with some ports chugging along; EA's sports sims and 2K's NBA titles, especially the recent ones, are not great on the current Switch. And even titles like “Sid Meyers Civilization 6” play great in the early stages, but become completely toothless in the late game.

Allegedly, Microsoft is trying to bring Call of Duty to Switch 2, but the franchise may not work well unless the handheld console is significantly more powerful than the current Switch.

As with every Nintendo Switch 2 leak, this is unverified speculation and should be viewed with some skepticism. Nevertheless, the leaks seem to cluster around the same design specs, so there is some credibility to the information.
