The next-generation Samsung Galaxy Ring 2, which could be announced as early as January, is said to be more comprehensive than the current version with the addition of a size range. This move would bring the device's size range in line with industry leader Oura, the manufacturer of the best smart ring available.
Currently, Samsung's Galaxy Ring is available in sizes 5 through 13. In contrast, the Oura Ring 4 is available in sizes 4 through 15. However, according to renowned leaker Max Jambor (first reported by 91mobiles), the Galaxy Ring 2 may have two more sizes: 14 and 15.
This information is corroborated by a leaked Samsung user manual and a recent certification document from the electronics approval agency Nemko (National Approval of Electrical Equipment in Norway).
So why does this new size mean so much to Samsung: with Oura dominating the smart ring market, Samsung needs to meet or exceed everything the OG finger wearable brands do to keep as many customers away as possible. need to do. And matching (almost) any size Oura offers would be a good start.
According to Jambor, the size 14 Galaxy Ring 2 boasts an inner diameter of 23 mm, while the size 15 ring has an inner diameter of 23.8 mm.
Unlike smartwatches, the correct sizing of a smart ring determines the reliability of the device's measurements. For this reason, most smart ring brands recommend measuring the size with their own sizing kits before purchase.
Frustratingly, smart ring sizing does not exactly match standard ring sizing, so even if you know your index finger size is typically a 10, it may be an 11 or 9 on the Galaxy Ring/Oura Ring.
Nevertheless, according to Korean leaker Lanzuk, the next generation Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 may improve the sizing adjustment. Expectations!
