The first trailer for James Gunn's “Superman” film has been released.
The new DCU began with Max's “Creature Commando,” but new head James Gunn calls the new “Superman” (formerly “Superman: Legacy”) “the true beginning of the DCU.” If you have not yet seen the trailer for “Superman,” you can watch it below.
It's certainly a short teaser, but it feels like it sets the stage for an epic celebration of the Man of Steel, and DC Comics more broadly.
Beginning with him crashing to earth in the snow and asking Krypto to take him home, it weaves in snapshots of his life as Clark Kent and moments of heroism, all set to a new electric guitar version of the “Superman” theme.
With close-ups of other heroes, Superman's fistfights with villains, and even a steamy kiss with Lois Lane thrown in, this looks to be the DC reinstatement that many have been waiting for. In short, “Superman” is going to be big, bold, blockbuster fun.
