Nord Security has announced new cybersecurity features for Saily. The eSIM service was created by the team behind NordVPN, one of the best VPNs available, and this update brings VPN-style protection to travelers.
The feature will be implemented at the network level and will also help secure data, making Saily the first wireless provider to introduce a layer of security.
The virtual location option allows users to change where they appear to be browsing from, hiding their true location from the site. By selecting a home location, users can browse as if they were sitting on their couch.
Enabling virtual location further routes traffic through NordVPN's servers, changing the IP address and virtual location.
Saily's ad blocker and web protection features reduce ads, block access to potentially malicious and phishing sites, and restrict trackers. This not only improves browsing security, but is estimated to save users up to 21% of their mobile data.
“Backed by NordVPN's experience, we are pioneering eSIM connections that add an additional level of protection against cyber threats without additional apps,” says Vykintas Maknickas, CEO of Saily. We are setting a new standard for mobile connectivity that prioritizes security, privacy, and innovation.”
Notably, Saily does not offer VPN-like protection. For example, your traffic and data are not encrypted, but with a VPN they are. If you want the best all-around protection when you are abroad, we recommend using Saily alongside a VPN.
A NordVPN survey found that 85% of travelers are worried about being hacked while on vacation.
“Travel eSIM reduces the cybersecurity risks associated with unfamiliar Wi-Fi networks, but other risks remain,” says McNickas.
“The new features are designed for travelers, allowing them to focus on exploring their destinations without worrying about cybersecurity risks.Simply download the Saily app and purchase the plan of your choice. Security features are available from the time the plan is activated until the feature is turned off or the data plan is used up.
While mobile data is not offered, having one of the best travel VPNs is another way to keep your data safe abroad.
