Netflix Teases Crime Thriller Show to Air in 2025 - Looks Like a Must-See!

Netflix is set to release a new crime thriller next year. That thriller is “The Ole Murder Case,” a Swedish show that is a must-see for fans of dark and intricate mysteries. Fortunately, the streaming service has already revealed that the show will be available on February 6, 2025.

Set against the scenic backdrop of Åre, a charming Swedish town known for its ski resorts, the show follows a suspended police officer who finds himself caught up in the aftermath of a mysterious disappearance. Judging from its premise, it's a tense, slow-burn journey that will leave you wondering if nothing is as it seems and the identity of the seemingly perfect Auray.

Netflix also teased more about the show's plot and what to expect. If you're looking for your next gripping crime thriller, “The Ole Murder Case” will be one to mark on your calendar, and here's everything you need to know about the show before its premiere in February 2025.

“The Ole Murder Case” follows Hanna Erlander (Carla Sane), a police officer suspended in Stockholm and abandoned by her partner, who retreats to her sister's villa in Ole. Her quiet escape is interrupted when a young woman mysteriously disappears on an icy Lucian night.

Driven by a strong sense of justice, Hannah begins to investigate the case on her own. However, due to her own personal struggles and the severe understaffing of the local police department, she faces resistance from reluctant cop Daniel Linskog (Khaled Razazi), who is forced to accept Hanna's help. The tension in the show hinges on whether Hanna and Daniel can trust each other as they work to uncover the truth.

The Ole Murder Case is directed by Joakim Eliasson and Alain Darbol and is based on the first two books in Swedish author Viveka Sten's Ole Murder Case series, Hidden in Snow and Hidden in the Shadows.

Viveka Sten told Netflix: “The Ole Murder Case means a lot to me and I am very excited that the time has come for the TV series to see the light of day on a premier streaming service like Netflix! As the author of the book and executive producer of the series, it is very exciting to see the characters brought to life by such talented actors. My dream, of course, is that the TV series will be as popular and successful as the book, both in Sweden and abroad.”

Sten has a total of five books, so “The Ole Murder Case” could have several more seasons to cover each story. At the time of this writing, it is unknown how many episodes it will be (there is no trailer yet), but “The Ole Murder Case” will be available on Netflix worldwide on February 6, 2025.
