Hulu is one of the best streaming services, thanks in part to its excellent library. At the Emmys, Hulu's shows “Shogun” and “The Bear” won the most awards, and several other shows were nominated, proving that if you like TV, you need Hulu.
But with so many great TV shows, it can be hard to know what to watch. Fortunately, Hulu has a collection of the top 15 shows and movies that will tell you what is trending on this platform.
After reviewing this week's popular shows, there are some clear choices: Hulu's top 10 are still mostly movies, as people are watching holiday movies. However, popular soap operas have a large number of episodes about to leave Hulu, with “Love Island: Australia” heating up as it nears its season finale. Just outside the top 10 is “What We Do in the Shadows,” which is one of my current favorite shows to watch, so check it out.
Below are three shows in Hulu's Top 10 that are worth watching right now. If you want to see more, check out Hulu's Top Movie Guide.
This is based on the Hulu Top 15 Movies and Shows as of Friday, December 20.
“General Hospital” is still the longest-running soap opera on television in the United States. Although the cast changes regularly, the show's present day revolves around the wealthy Quartermain family and the fictional town of Port Charles. The Quartermaines are heavily involved in the town's business, which always causes drama. But it is not only the Quartermaines who cause problems; the Spencers often play an important role as well.
A large number of new episodes arrived on Hulu this week. Currently, all episodes from season 62, “Wednesday, December 4, 2024,” onward are available. But there is a catch. Many of these episodes will disappear just as quickly as they arrived. Start watching now before it's too late.

“Love Island: Australia ‘works just like the other shows in the ’Love Island” franchise. A group of Aussie bachelors known as “Islanders” live together in a luxurious villa isolated from the outside world. Throughout the season, the Islanders couple up to find love and avoid being dumped from the villa. Meanwhile, the Australians vote for the Islanders to remain in the villa.
But it is not only the first contestants who participate. As old Islanders are discarded, new Islanders enter the villas and compete for the prize money. Catch up now before “Love Island Australia picks a winner.

“What We Do in the Shadows” just finished its final season. This hit FX comedy mockumentary show is based on Taika Waititi's film of the same name, but arguably surpasses the original film. One of the most respected comedies on television in recent years, it has been nominated for dozens of Emmy Awards over its five seasons (season 6 just ended).
The show centers on four vampire roommates on Staten Island: Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo Cravensworth (Matt Berry), Nadja of Antipaxos (Natasha Demetriou) and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch). Harvey Guillen will also appear as Nandor's familiar Guillermo, and Kristen Schaal will appear in a later season as Guide, an emissary of the Vampire Council. What We Do in the Shadows is hilarious and wonderful, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a new comedy.”
