One of the Pixel Watch 3's best fitness features comes from the older Google and Fitbit smartwatches

Older Google and Fitbit smartwatches will receive a major upgrade, rolling out the training load management features introduced in the Pixel Watch 3 to a wide range of devices.

Cardio Load and Target Load will be available on any Google or Fitbit device that supports Fitbit's Daily Readiness feature. The full list of supported devices is below and includes the best Fitbits like the Inspire 3, Versa 4, Charge 6, Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2.

New features help you manage your workout load so you can get fitter without risking burnout. The Cardio Load feature measures the work your heart has done throughout the day, both in workouts and general activity, while Target Load displays your target score for the day based on your most recent activity. Both functions work in conjunction with the Readiness score, which estimates the body's readiness to tackle each day's intense exercise.

All compatible devices can now access cardio load and target load statistics along with readiness scores without requiring a Fitbit Premium subscription.

A full list of Pixel and Fitbit devices that support the Cardio Load and Target Load features follows:

Cardio Load and Target Load are designed to determine the effort you put into training and measure the strain on your body. training load management function. Such training load advice is a common feature on the best sports watches, and Apple also introduced training load on its smartwatches with this year's watchOS 11 update.

However, Google's Training Load feature goes beyond Apple's in that it advises how hard you should train through its Targeted Load feature. This score is based on tracking long-term and short-term training load, and provides a target value that ensures a balance between these two metrics.

For example, if you have not been able to train regularly for several weeks, your target load for that day will not be very high because your body may not be able to handle the impact. With the Cardio Load and Targeted Load features, you can safely increase your training volume and get healthier without overdoing it.

Google recently moved Fitbit Readiness Score from behind the Fitbit Premium paywall and made it available to all users.

This would be a very welcome change as it has always felt wrong to me to have to pay a subscription to access the statistics and insights measured by a watch or fitness tracker that I have already spent hundreds of dollars on.

While there are still some insights locked behind the paid wall of Fitbit Premium, such as advanced sleep statistics and personalized running form metrics, the availability of Readiness scores to all users is a welcome addition to the Fitbit and Google devices is a major improvement in the user experience.
