Norton VPN has delivered a new update that includes important features previously missing from its VPN.

The VPN now includes a kill switch for Macs and is available at all tiers. This is a much needed and welcome update, as previously the kill switch was only available to Windows and Android users.

Norton VPN has historically not challenged the top of the best VPN lists, but it is encouraging to see it moving closer to the top ranking VPN providers with recent updates.

Concurrent with the introduction of the kill switch, Norton VPN has revamped the naming of its plans and clarified and simplified its product hierarchy. [The lowest tier, Norton Secure VPN, became Norton VPN Standard. The mid-tier Norton Ultra VPN became Norton VPN Plus. The top-tier Norton Ultra VPN Plus became Norton VPN Ultimate.

Norton is best known for offering the best antivirus software, but in recent months there have been some welcome improvements to Norton VPN that threaten to make our best VPN list.

When it comes to security and privacy, Norton is well-known and its no-log policy was verified by an independent audit in April 2024.

In addition, independent tests ranked it as one of the fastest VPNs, and in tests by Passmark, it came in second behind Surfshark.
