There have been many rumors about the upcoming iPhone SE 4, but it looks like the wait for this device is almost over.
The iPhone SE 4 aims to be Apple's more affordable next-generation smartphone. Over the past few months we have heard a lot about the phone's upcoming features, but so far the release date has been up in the air. However, according to a recent report by the economic newspaper Ajnews via Macrumors, it could launch in March or April 2025.
According to the report, mass production of Apple's camera module will begin in December. It is important to note that this component is usually supplied by LG Innotek, and that LG Innotek regularly begins production months before the phone's official release. This is consistent with a recent report by Ming-Chi Kuo, in which he estimates that Apple's supply will produce up to 8.6 million units by Q1 2025.
We have a pretty good idea of what will appear in the iPhone SE 4, thanks to a massive leak that allegedly showed off iPhone SE 4 specs. According to a prominent informant, the iPhone SE 4 will resemble the iPhone 12, have a 6.06-inch screen, and feature an A18 chip and 8GB of RAM. It is unclear if it will have all the features of the iPhone 16 series, including camera control buttons, but this is important because it will be able to run Apple Intelligence.
Oddly enough, it appears that there may be more than one model of the iPhone SE 4. Recent leaks have uncovered what appears to be an iPhone SE 4 Plus. This could be interesting, but unlikely given that the plus-size iPhone Plus model has struggled to sell well. However, the report did contain interesting information - that the iPhone SE 4 can be fitted with accessories for the iPhone 14.
At this point, the iPhone SE 4 has a lot to be excited about and is certainly one of the most anticipated phones of 2025. The big question, however, will be the cost of the device at launch. Hopefully, Apple will keep the same $429 price tag as its predecessor, the iPhone SE 2022, and make it into our list of best budget phones.
