New Peacock Programs for January 2025 - All the Movies and Programs You Need to See

Peacock's January 2025 begins with a long-standing tradition of celebrating the New Year (Rose Parade) and a recent new project (“The Day Drinking with Seth Meyers New Year's Special”).

Later in the month, new episodes of Peacock reality show favorites “The Traitors” and “Love Island All Stars,” as well as a documentary on the Diddy scandal and the sports doc series “Here Come the Irish,” as well as new episodes of the sports documentary series ”Here Come the Irish.

Peacock also received a new series from NBC and its Bravo siblings in January with “Southern Hospitality” and “Deal or No Deal Island,” as well as “Below Deck: Also,” “Below Deck: Sailing Yacht,” “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” and the medical drama ‘Brilliant Minds’ are in their season finale.

A limited series of true-crime dramas and a look back at the first 50 years of “Saturday Night Live” round out this month's Peacock highlights.

The 1988 bombing of a Pan Am plane over Lockerbie, Scotland, was the worst terrorist attack in British history and remains the subject of scrutiny and speculation decades later. In this limited series, Colin Firth plays Jim Swire. He is the man who devoted his life to getting to the bottom of the bombing after his own daughter was killed on the plane along with other passengers.

Swire's efforts spanned decades, and the series chronicles his crusade to never give up his pursuit of justice for his daughter and the other victims. Based on Swire's own nonfiction books, the series lends authenticity to the series by delving into difficult and still painful historical events.

“Traitors” came out of nowhere and became the biggest new reality TV sensation in years when it debuted on Peacock in 2023. Since then, it has become Peacock's most popular reality show and one of the most popular shows on the entire streaming service, winning three Emmys, including one for host Alan Cumming.

For the new third season, Cumming returns as host, and the cast once again features a mix of reality show veterans from “Survivor” and “The Real Housewives” as well as pop culture celebrities (including Zac Efron's brother and an actual British king). All of the contestants face a variety of challenges in order to win the prize money, but some are secretly tasked with sabotaging the team's efforts. It's a simple format, but it's proving to be addictive.

NBC has been celebrating the 50th anniversary of “Saturday Night Live” since its season premiere in September, with numerous returning cast members appearing as hosts and guest stars in various sketches. That celebration continues with Peacock's new four-episode documentary, produced by Oscar-winning documentarian Morgan Neville, which explores various aspects of “SNL” history.

Each episode focuses on one notable element that made “SNL” a comedic and cultural institution. The series begins with an examination of the rigorous audition process for performers, an episode on the show's writers' room, an in-depth retrospective of the classic “More Cowbell” sketch, and creator Lorne Michaels' return after a five-year absence, the 1985-1986 season is covered. More than 60 participants, including numerous “SNL” alumni, are on hand to tell the story of this iconic sketch show.
