The Black Friday shopping season is in full swing, with every major retailer offering discounts on all kinds of products and gadgets. Apple is joining in the festivities, but not in the same way as other retailers, and has announced what offers you can expect this year.

Apple has announced that it will host an “Apple Store Shopping Event” from November 29 through Cyber Monday, December 2, known as Black Friday. As is customary for Black Friday at the Apple Store, no actual discounts will be offered. Instead, Apple will again offer gift cards for the purchase of certain products at regular prices.

Unfortunately, these promotions don't seem to target the latest Apple products like the iPhone 16 or iPad mini 7. But if you were thinking of buying something a little older, a free gift card is worth considering.

Apple will give a gift card worth up to $75 to anyone who buys an iPhone 15, iPhone 14, or iPhone SE. For Macs, the Macbook Air M4 (13-inch and 15-inch models) or 13-inch MacBook Air M2 are the options.

Purchases of Apple TV 4K, HomePod, and Apple Watch SE will earn up to $50 in gift credits. You can also get up to $50 back when you purchase Beats Studio Pro, Beats Solo 4 Wireless, Beats Solo Buds, Beats Fit Pro, Beats Studio Buds Plus, Beats Pill, and Beats Flex. If you instead purchase AirPods Max, AirPods Pro 2, or AirPods 4, this figure increases to $75.

Accessories earn the least amount of gift card credit and can be used up to $25 on a variety of products: Magic Keyboard, Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Folio, Smart Folio, Smart Folio for iPad Pro, Smart Folio for iPad Air, and Smart Folio for iPad 10th generation.

Now, the question you need to ask yourself is whether such a deal is something you actually want: most products eligible for gift cards at the Apple Store are already discounted at other retailers, so there is little need to pay upfront. The discount will also be applied to future purchases at the Apple Store.
