According to recent reports, Google may cancel the Pixel Tablet 3 and future tablets.

Google's Pixel tablet series has had a somewhat tumultuous history, with the company announcing that it would stop producing tablets in 2019. However, the company then teased the Pixel Tablet in 2022, which was released in 2023. Sadly, history seems to be repeating itself, as there are new reports that Google is exiting the tablet market.

The news comes from a recent exclusive report by Android Headlines on the future of Google's tablet. The report cites several industry sources close to the project who confirmed that Google is not moving forward with the Pixel Tablet 3.

Presumably, Google made this decision last week and the personnel previously assigned to the Pixel Tablet 3 have been reassigned to other internal efforts.

While this change represents a major shift in Google's hardware roadmap, Android will reportedly still run on the tablet's software. As a matter of fact, this decision makes a certain amount of sense. There is currently a push for the foldable market, and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold was one of the best foldable phones released recently. This is expected to be an area of focus for Google, especially since Apple has yet to enter the foldable market.

This news also means that the Google Pixel Tablet 2 will be the last for the brand. Rumors about the upcoming tablet are fairly scarce, but there have been indications that it will visually resemble past tablets, but may add a keyboard cover. While the proposed changes will not be as impressive as the proposed changes to the Pixel Tablet 3, which aims to replace laptops, it is still expected to be as usable as the original Pixel Tablet.
