The iPhone SE 4 release date has been set and it appears to be confirmed that it will support 5G connectivity.
There is no doubt that the iPhone SE 4 is eagerly awaited, but not much has been reported yet about the actual release date. Recent leaks pointed to the possibility of a March or April 2025 release date due to the production timing of the camera module. This date may also be corroborated by Barclays analyst Tom O'Malley, as reported by MacRumors.
A new research note by O'Malley, who recently visited Asia and met with various electronics manufacturers and suppliers, confirms that an iPhone with a 5G modem is scheduled to launch in Q1 2025. This timeframe suggests a March launch, as does the iPhone SE 2022.
The mention of a 5G modem is another kind of confirmation, as it had been suggested that it could be included in the device. Apple has been working on its own 5G modem since around 2018 in an effort to reduce its reliance on Qualcomm and eventually get rid of it. However, certain restrictions have forced the company to extend its supply contract until 2026, and it is said that only some models, such as the iPhone 17 Air, will have their own modems.
We have a pretty good idea of what to expect regarding iPhone SE 4 specs. There was one major leak recently that revealed most of the device's key specs. iPhone SE 4 is expected to resemble the iPhone 12, with a 6.06-inch screen, an A18 chip, and at least 8GB of RAM. The latter two specs will be important because they will allow the device to run another rumored feature, Apple Intelligence.
An early release date is great, but the real question is how much this phone will cost compared to previous models. If it is priced well, there is no doubt that the iPhone SE 4 could at least make an appearance on our list of best budget phones.
