Three months after its release in September of this year, Apple has released new iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 updates that include several minor changes and important security fixes.

The two security fixes relate to JavaScriptCore (tracked as CVE-2024-44308) and WebKit (tracked as CVE-2024-44309) issues. The JavaScriptCore threat is a maliciously crafted web content and can cause arbitrary code execution, and was found primarily on Intel-based Mac systems. The problem was resolved by improving the checks. [Similarly, the Webkit fix, which exploits maliciously crafted web content to conduct cross-site scripting attacks, was also exploited on Intel-based Mac systems. iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 security fixes include state management cookie management issue by improving state management.

This fix, which is recommended for everyone using one of the best iPhones, comes three weeks after the announcement of iOS 18.1, which focused primarily on Apple Intelligence features.
