Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Rumors of a Huge Price Increase - This is crazy!

While we are happy about most of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra rumors, we can only hope that Samsung's already expensive flagship will not be as expensive as is currently rumored in regards to the suggested price increase.

Jukanlosreve cites Weibo leaker Setsuna Digital, who claims that the most expensive Galaxy S25 model will cost at least $110 more than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. And while Jukanlosreve describes the price increase as “inevitable,” Setsuna Digital takes a more cautious view, saying that Samsung “will probably raise prices in many sales regions.”

If Samsung passes on all of these cost increases to consumers, the S25 Ultra would cost approximately $1,409. This would make the new Ultra incredibly expensive compared to competitors like the $1,199 iPhone 16 Pro Max and the $1,099 Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, and would undoubtedly affect the purchase decisions of many potential Samsung customers.

However, while the cost of materials and the retail price of the phone are linked, they do not necessarily increase by the same amount. What seems likely is that Samsung will raise the price of the Galaxy S25 Ultra by about $50, aiming to absorb some of the cost increase while maintaining a similar profit margin. It may also choose to keep the price the same as before in order to align its prices with those of its main competitors.

After all, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has already seen a $100 price increase in the U.S. last year compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra in 2023; even if for the second year in a row Samsung believes the price increase is necessary to maintain margins in light of increased costs, the smartphone would be an unpopular choice among smartphone buyers.

The leaked information does not explain why Samsung is facing rising production costs for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, other rumors give us some ideas.

We previously thought that the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip (previously thought to be named Snapdragon 8 Gen 4), which the Galaxy S25 series is believed to use, could lead to a price increase due to the cost of new Snapdragon silicon We have heard from multiple sources that this is a possibility. In addition, rumored improvements such as a new larger display, a higher-resolution ultrawide camera, and a variable-zoom telephoto camera could also contribute to this.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will arrive in 2025, but has not mentioned an exact date. However, if I were a betting man, I would bet that it will be released in January, as Samsung has been doing for the past few years.

Along with the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra that we may see in the next Galaxy Unpacked, we may also see an all-new model that packs ultra-grade features into a smaller package, the Galaxy S 25 Slim, which may also be unveiled.
