Google has made it simpler to back up messages in the Google Messages app.
Backing up messages is one of the easiest ways to make sure you don't lose important information when you change or reset your device. This is doubly important with the best messaging apps like Google Messages: while it is possible to backup messages via Google One, the same cannot be said for the Google Messages app. However, recent reports have revealed that Google is trying to change this situation.
A recent APK Insight 9to5 Google discovered a new system called “Backup & Restore” in the latest beta version. According to the code string, Backup will allow users to restore conversations, media, etc. at any time; Google Messages will also offer end-to-end encryption protected by a lock screen. Finally, conversations are automatically restored when you sign in; Android Authority was able to enable this feature to get an idea of what the menu would look like.
It should be noted that some devices cannot use the backup feature. For example, one of the main reasons identified is that devices without a screen lock are inaccessible. However, it is possible to run Google Messages without a backup, which can be turned off at any time in the settings. It should be noted, however, that doing so will permanently delete the messages from your Google account.
This news follows another report last month that suggested Google is redesigning the Google Messages app to improve the user experience. According to that report, changes are being made to the way chat callouts and profile images are displayed. Another report revealed several changes aimed at improving user privacy, including making profile images more visible.
Google Messages has many features and is an important part of the best Android phones. The ability to back up details within the app is great and will help make the experience more streamlined.
